Curriculum - Science
Warrnambool East Primary School is a science specialist school and all students enjoy specialist science teaching in a school that lives and breathes science. There are classroom creatures such as axolotls and bearded dragons in every classroom, a superbly equipped science lab, a touch tank-home to local marine creatures and the opportunity to work alongside 'real' scientists from Deakin University. The partnership with Deakin University has enabled our science specialism to go from strength to strength and our students are now involved with the Fluker Post Project with Victoria University, The Seal the Loop Project with Melbourne Zoo and are representative on the Warrnambool City Council Community Advisory Group - Coastal Vulnerability Study

Warrnambool East Primary School Zoos Victoria Marine Guardian Schools Project
Collecting over 21,000 cotton buds in 24 months on one of our beautiful beaches triggered Warrnambool East Primary School to take part in a campaign to stop cotton bud marine pollution. Year 3/4 students have written letters and created 'Better Buds' posters, slogans and movies in an attempt to influence behaviour change.
Warrnambool East Primary School as part of the Zoos Victoria Marine Guardians Schools project have been involved in beach clean-ups and litter source reduction for six years.
This video was made with support from the Coastcare Victoria Community Grants Fund.
Will you be a 'Better Bud' to put an end to cotton bud marine pollution?
Take the #betterbudspledge
