Wellbeing - Nurturing Room

At Warrnambool East we pride ourselves on catering for the diverse needs of our students through innovative programs.

The Nurture Room program has a focus on oral language, and social and emotional development. The room is a safe, calming space in the transition between school and home. The program is planned by a teacher, and is run by two staff whose role is to welcome each student and provide the oportunity and the time for students to be 'ready for learning.'   The program is perfect for students from Prep and Years 1 and 2 who benefit from a small group learning environment.

  • Students may attend daily for an extended period of time or a shorter, limited period of time depending on need.
  • students may attend each day, or on determined days eg Mondays after a fortnightly access visit.
